The idea for 'One Bar, One Question' came to me in a vivid dream in which a woman jolted me awake by posing just one question to me. She said, "One bar, one question. What's life?" I quickly scribbled her query in my nightstand notebook. Her query remained so vivid for me that I created a complete setting around her question. The scene? An English pub in a small country village during wintertime, very much based on my UK "Coast-to-Coast' walking tours across the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors National Parks. That's where I visited several such small rural pubs that dotted my route from the west to the east coast of England. Quite a journey in real life, while excellent fodder for spinning a good tale for a tune!
