Dedicated to my Mom and written in one outpouring shortly after her passing, with not one word changed since. She always wanted to be assured that everything was OK with me, and wouldn't want to hear otherwise! I added the church bell sounds at the beginning and end because she never had them at her memorial.
Lyrics
Memories are flooding my mind of simpler times before
I can’t keep up with them, they knock me to the floor
Think of you day and night and every time in between
I can’t seem to shake these thoughts - you must know what I mean
But I’m OK, and I’ll try to keep it that way
Yes I’m alright, but sometimes I cry in the night
Remembering the good times, remembering what we had
You were always there for me through the good and bad
I want you to know I’m missing you so much
Looking at old photographs, I miss your tender touch
But I’m OK, it’s what you’d want me to be
Yes I’m OK, knowing you are free
I close my eyes, I see you in my mind
Reawakening memories that were so hard to find
I’ll feel your touch again and look upon your bright smile
You’ll tell me a story and we’ll spend a while
Yes I’m OK, but only sometimes just
Yes I’m OK, knowing that I must.
